ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Whether you’re looking for a new furry friend or a fun round of golf, Saturday’s seventh annual Wendy M. Bowling Pet Adoption Event and Golf Tournament offers both and benefits two Roanoke Valley animal shelters!
The Wendy M. Bowling Pet Adoption Event and Golf Tournament — which will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Angels of Assisi and the Roanoke Valley SPCA — will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 19 at the Blue Hills Golf Club in Roanoke.
So far, 128 pets have been adopted and $50,540 have been raised for the Roanoke Valley SPCA and Angels of Assisi from previous Wendy M. Bowling Memorial Pet Adoption and Golf Tournament events, the shelter says.
“The Wendy M. Bowling Pet Adoption Event and Golf Tournament provide much needed funds and adoption opportunities for our shelter,” said Denise Hayes, Chief Executive Officer of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. “Not only are we excited to have an in-person event after a year of social distancing, we are also incredibly grateful for the Bowling family’s continued commitment to animal welfare in the Roanoke Valley.”
Both cats and dogs will be on site and available for adoption at Saturday’s event.
Even if you don’t have tickets to the golf tournament at 1 p.m., the Roanoke Valley SPCA says you are still welcome to attend the adoption event, which starts at 10 a.m.
