Roanoke tops list of cheapest places to rent in Virginia

(WFXR) – Virginia is not only for lovers, but it’s also a cheap place to live, according to a new publication from Rent.com.

Now, that doesn’t mean that Virginia is the cheapEST place to live but it’s certainly cheaper to live than, say, California.

According to the article, the average rent price for a one-bedroom apartment in Virginia is $1,791.

Breaking down some of the cheapest places to rent in Virginia, Roanoke tops the list where the average price to rent a one-bedroom apartment is $593, which is a 29.16% reduction from one year prior.

Right behind the Star City, is our neighbor to the east – Vinton where a one-bedroom apartment averages $788.
