ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke officials say that a stretch of the Roanoke River Greenway will be closed on Wednesday.

This closure will last only for the day, starting at 6 a.m. and is due to AEP forming work along the Greenway.

The Greenway will be closed between Piedmont Street to Arbor Avenue.

A detour will be in place for guests who are using that section of the Greenway.

That detour runs from Piedmont Street to Hamilton Terrace to Walnut Avenue to Piedmont Street to Arbor Avenue.
