ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke city leaders worked with local partners to set up barricades near street locations in the Star City that are “considered at-risk” as the remnants of Hurricane Ida are expected to pass through the area Wednesday.
Officials say the Roanoke City Emergency Management Team will stay in contact with the National Weather Service and Virginia Department of Emergency Management as the region remains prepared for potential severe weather.
The city announced on Tuesday, Aug. 31 the following pre-set barricade locations:
- 9th & 10th and Campbell
- Both sides of Shaffers Crossing
- Cravens Creek & Deyerle
- Cravens Creek & Crestmoor
- Wise & Indian Village
- Vale & Kermit
- Vale & Gus Nicks
- Baldwin & Tuck
- Tuck & Eastern
- 13th & Eastern
