Roanoke Police investigate early-morning shooting along Williamson Road NE

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating a shooting that took place overnight outside of a business in northeast Roanoke and sent a man to the hospital.

The Roanoke Police Department says word came in about a person with a gunshot would in the 4300 block of Williamson Road NE at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 9.

When police arrived at the scene, they say they found a man lying in a parking lot with what appeared to be a serious gunshot wound.

The man was reportedly taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to the department, no suspects were located and no arrests have been made at this time.
