UPDATE: Police identify person shot in northwest Roanoke homicide Christmas Day

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police have identified the victim of the fatal shooting that took place in northwest Roanoke on Christmas Day.

As of Monday, Dec. 28, the victim has been identified as 26-year-old Brianna Stevens of Roanoke.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, the incident happened around 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25, when officers were called about a person down in the 3400 block of Bennett Drive NW.

When police arrived, they found the woman lying on the ground outside of a residence.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no arrests have been made in the incident and the investigation into the woman’s death continues.
