Roanoke Parks and Rec to celebrate reopening of city pools on Thursday

UPDATE 5:46 p.m.: The Roanoke Parks and Recreation Department held an event Thursday, June 3 to celebrate the re-opening of city pools at Washington and Fallon parks.

During the event, city representatives along with Fishwick and Associates, American National Bank, Vistar Eye Center, and Carilion — raised money to ensure people had access to the pools this summer.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — On Thursday, the Roanoke Parks and Recreation Department — along with other city and business representatives — will gather to celebrate the reopening of the Washington Park and Fallon Park pools for the summer.

The department — along with representatives from Roanoke City, Fishwick and Associates, American National Bank, Vistar Eye Center, and Carilion Clinic — will hold the event at noon on Thursday, June 3 at the Washington Park Pool.

Attendees plan to discuss the community partnerships and fundraising involved in making sure the Star City community would be able to use the city pools this year.

Members of the public are welcome to attend this event.
