ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A man was found guilty of murder in connection with a shooting in southwest Roanoke back in 2020.

On Wednesday, Feb. 23, the Roanoke Police Department says 53-year-old Ahmad H. Mubdi of Roanoke, was found guilty by a jury of his peers following the death of Derrick Bostick in September 2020.

Mubdi was found guilty on all charges — first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say the shooting happened in the 700 block of Bridge Street SW on Sept. 12, 2020. Officers were called to the scene around 2 a.m. and found the victim, Bostick, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Bostick was taken to the hospital, where he died a few days later due to his injuries.
