ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke County Police Department is asking drivers to avoid Bent Mountain Road, if possible, this Friday due to winter weather conditions.

Police say they are responding to reports of multiple disabled vehicles in the roadway in approximately the 8700 block – S Curves. One of these reports includes a jack-knifed tractor-trailer.

VDOT is in the process of spreading salt and plowing. Snow is continuing to accumulate rapidly, causing road conditions to be dangerous at this time.

If you do have to drive through this area, police ask that you drive slowly and with extreme caution.
