ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — First responders in Roanoke County acted quickly Wednesday morning to put out a vehicle fire along Tinker Avenue.

According to the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department, just before 6 a.m., crews from the Vinton station were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Tinker Avenue.

However, while heading toward the vehicle fire, communications upgraded the call to a commercial structure fire due to the vehicle’s proximity to a building.

Units arrived and found the vehicle’s engine compartment on fire but they quickly extinguished the flames.

Fire officials say the fire was contained to the engine compartment, so only the truck was damaged. There are no reports of injuries.
