ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Txtur & Old School Parners has announced that it will be opening Fire Station One on Sept. 23.
Organizing officials say, the 115-year-old renovated fire station will reopen as a flagship retail gallery for Txtur, a furniture manufacturer.
The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which will begin at 10 on that Friday morning.
Mayor Sherman Lea and the project managers will speak at the event, as well, to commemorate the achievement proceeded by an all-day open house, musical entertainment, food trucks, and more until 8 p.m.
The showroom –measured to be 7,000 sq. ft. — will include a designated space to sit with furniture experts and configure customer pieces, which will be crafted less than two hours away.
The Nordic-inspired bistro within the building is called Stock, which will focus on fresh, regional ingredients and wines. The bistro will include a bar, an open kitchen, and a courtyard. Stock is not scheduled to be open until November.
The Fire Station One Boutique Hotel will be housed on the second floor and includes a seven-room hotel and ballroom. All of the rooms have an individual style and are rendered in Txtur products. The ballroom — constructed from the antique locker room that was occupied by Fire Company One — will act as an event space and lounge.
The building, first built in 1907, is located at 13 Church Ave, SE, Roanoke, VA 24011. Renovations to the fire station include a furniture showroom, bistro, and boutique hotel.
