Roanoke College will require students provide proof of vaccination and wear masks

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke College releasing new guidelines as the school year closes in. The college will require students to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination through the Student Health Portal.

According to the school’s website, that unvaccinated students will be tested for COVID-19 weekly at Student Health Services until “a satisfactory number of students have been vaccinated”.

The college also talked about the mask requirements. Students will be required under the CDC guidelines to wear a mask on campus in an indoor setting from Monday, Aug. 16 through the end of September.

The school is also evaluating any large gatherings, such as Fridays on the Quad.

New students are scheduled to move in on Saturday, Aug. 28. Returning students are set to move in on Sunday, Aug. 29. Evening classes begin on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
