ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Virginia State Police to host a free HEAT VIN etching event and car safety checks on Saturday, April 15,
HEAT stands for Help Eliminate Auto Theft. The event will be held at Target located at 4737 Valley View Blvd N.W. in Roanoke from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and will include free hot dogs, chips, and a drink will while waiting.
Organizers say the program is a way to educate citizens on how to prevent their vehicles from being stolen.
