Residents displaced in Friday night house fire in Rocky Mount

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Franklin County fire crews battled a late-week house fire in the Rocky Mount section of the county on Friday night.

According to the Franklin County Department of Public Safety, the 911 center received a call about the fire just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7. at 192 Hollyfield Road.

When crews first arrived, they found smoke coming from the home.

All occupants were able to escape to safety.

Emergency personnel entered the home and were able to contain the fire to one bedroom and a portion of another.

The home sustained heat and smoke damage.

The residents of the home have been displaced and are being helped by the American Red Cross.
