ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Even though the Big Lick Comic Con is still four months away from returning to Roanoke, pop culture fans around southwest Virginia are already eager to buy their tickets on Friday so they don’t miss out on meeting some celebrities.

He now hosts his own podcast, “LeVar Burton Reads,” where he shares short fiction, along with a YouTube series called “This is My Story,” where he talks about racism in America.

Organizers also announced two more guests for the comic con this week: Gerry Conway and Dante Basco.

According to the event’s Facebook page, Conway is a comic book writer and editor, screenwriter, and television writer and producer.

He is known for co-creating the Marvel Comics vigilante antihero, the Punisher as well as the first Ms. Marvel and scripting the death of the character Gwen Stacy during his long run on The Amazing Spider-Man.
