ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Ready to read together as a community for the summer?

Roanoke County Public Library wants avid readers to participate in the Summer Reading Program: Choose Kindness Find Wonder. The goal is to read 10,000 books this summer.

Registration opened Monday, June 7 but is still open. You can register through Beanstack website or you can print off a paper log. Bookworms just have to read three books to complete the program.

Those who participate will also have a chance to win prizes for completing the program. At the end of summer, each library location will draw a winner for each age group.

If the goal is reached, the Roanoke County Public Library will donate $1,000 to Feeding Southwest Virginia.
