Prosecutors recommend 51 to 63-month sentence for former Rockbridge Regional Jail Superintendent

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Federal prosecutors recommend a sentence of 51-63 months in prison for a former Rockbridge County jail superintendent convicted on several charges.

John Higgins used to oversee the Rockbridge Regional Jail.

Higgins was found guilty on six counts in February including depriving inmates of rights and accepting bribes.

A formal sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 11.
