Police respond to robbery in northwest Roanoke with shots fired

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating after learning about shots fired while responding to a robbery in northwest Roanoke on Thursday.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, officers responded to reports of a robbery near 6th Street and Gilmer Avenue NW on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Police say they were told at least one shot had been fired.

Even though a woman was the victim of the robbery, the department says she was not hurt during the incident.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with this incident, but the investigation is still active, officials say.
