Police identify woman who was found dead in Roanoke County

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke County Police Department has identified the woman whose body was found in the Catawba area Monday afternoon.

Police say the body of 28-year-old Kayla Nicole Sumner of Roanoke, was found on Monday, Nov. 8 after the Emergency Communications Center received a call from a citizen around 2 p.m.

According to investigators, her body was discovered in the 8800 block of Brush Mountain Road.

This case remains under investigation and police have not made any arrests at this time.
