ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after police found him injured in southeast Roanoke following reports of a shooting.
The Roanoke Police Department says word came in about shots fired in the 1500 block of Gordon Avenue SE a little before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7. When officers arrived at the scene, though, they did not find any evidence of a shooting in the area.
However, shortly after the initial report, police say they were notified about a person with a gunshot wound in the 1600 block of 16th Street SE. When officers responded to this call, they discovered a man outside of a residence with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man was then brought to to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
According to the department, details about what led up to the shooting are limited at this time.
Authorities say they did not find any suspects at the scene and have not made any arrests in connection with this ongoing shooting investigation.

This marks the third shooting in the Star City since Saturday, Sept. 4. The victims of the previous two shootings were both found in northwest Roanoke and their deaths are being investigated as homicides.
