ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A person was taken into custody following a fire that damaged multiple rooms at a northeast Roanoke hotel over the weekend.

According to officials, the fire damage was limited to one hotel room and while five hotel rooms sustained smoke damage, bringing the total cost of damages to an estimated $15,000.

After investigating what Roanoke Fire-EMS described as an “incendiary commercial fire,” police arrested a person at the scene of the incident.
