FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Looks like apple lovers will have to wait a little longer before they can attend the Apple Festival in Franklin County.
The organizers decided to reschedule the festival in the Town of Boones Mill as a precautionary move due to the rising cases of COVID-19 within the county.
According to a post on the town’s Facebook page from Tuesday, Sept. 7, “Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount has been full for the last few weeks with patients.”
The post went on to say that the safety and health of the town’s residents, business owners, and visitors is their top priority.
The Facebook page for the Boones Mill Apple Festival says that the festival has been postponed until Oct. 16, giving the town an additional five weeks to allow the spread of the virus to subside.
