First responders extract injured person from vehicle after following crash in Salem

SALEM, Va. (WFXR)— The Salem Fire & EMS Department had to extract an injured person from their car following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.

According to a post by the department on Facebook, the crew was able to cut a heavily damaged front driver side door away, roll the dash, and remove a person trapped in the vehicle on Thursday, Aug. 19.

The person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
