One man injured after Saturday night shooting in Roanoke, police say

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating a shooting in Roanoke that sent one man to the hospital on Saturday night, marking the Star City’s second shooting in less than 24 hours.

The Roanoke Police Department says word came in about a person who was shot in the 500 block of 8th Street NW at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Police tell WFXR News that when officers arrived at the scene, they didn’t find any victims or suspects.

However, a short time later, officer located the shooting victim at 4th Street and Campbell Avenue SW, according to authorities.

Roanoke Fire-EMs reportedly took the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital to be treated for what appeared to be a not-life threatening injury.

Police are investigating the incident and have not made any arrests in this case.
