One injured in overnight shooting in downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Roanoke responded to a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in downtown, leaving one person injured.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, they were notified around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 about a person with a gunshot wound in the 400 block of Williamson Road SE.

Arriving officers found a man in a vehicle with what police say appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

He was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, police say they found several vehicles that had been damaged in the shooting.

Officers are looking for those responsible and no arrests have been made in connection with the ongoing investigation into this shooting.
