UPDATE 11/29 (WFXR)– Roanoke Fire-EMS says the person found burned in a brush fire on the 700 block of Hemlock Road on Wednesday, Nov. 23 has died.

Firefighters say they responded to a brush fire on the 700 block of Hemlock Road Wednesday afternoon shortly after 1 p.m. They reported the fire was about an acre and a half in size when they found the burned person.

Firefighters say the person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where they died from their injuries on Monday, Nov. 28. Roanoke Fire-EMS says the name of the person will not be released.

The Roanoke Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire was accidental.



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke Fire-EMS says they were called to a brush fire to find a person who was burned and in critical condition.

Firefighters say they were dispatched at 1:15 p.m. to the 700 block of Hemlock Road Northwest for a brush fire. They say the brush fire was about an acre and a half in size when the first engine arrived. They then discovered the burned patient.

According to a Facebook post by Roanoke Fire-EMS the fire was deemed accidental and the patient was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
