ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police say one man was injured and one man was charged following a report of a stabbing in northwest Roanoke Friday morning.
The Roanoke Police Department says word came in about a stabbing at a business in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue NW at approximately 6 a.m. on Friday, May 7.
According to the department, officers found a man with what appeared to be a minor injury. Members of Roanoke Fire-EMS reportedly brought the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
In addition, police say they found another man at the scene, identified as 56-year-old Robert Holmburg, Jr. of Roanoke. Authorities arrested and charged Holmburg with malicious wounding.
A department representative told WFXR News this stabbing appears to be an isolated incident, but further details are limited in connection with this ongoing investigation.
