One dead in Friday night ATV crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police is investigating an ATV crash that resulted in the death of the driver late Friday night at the intersection of Ledbetter Road and Muse Field Road in Franklin County.

At approximately 11:55 p.m. on Friday, April 2, police say a Honda Recon ATV was traveling north on Ledbetter Road when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and ejected the driver.

The driver — identified by authorities as 35-year-old Travis Andrew Hudson of Rocky Mount — was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of the crash.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
