New Freedom Farm recognized as an EQUUS Foundation 2021 Guardian

BUCHANAN, Va. (WFXR) — New Freedom Farm is being recognized as an EQUUS Foundation 2021 Guardian.

The Guardians program helps to encourage equine organizations to be transparent and accountable to the public through the disclosure of their equine care and use practices.

These eligible organizations provide:

  • Shelter and rehabilitation for equines subjected to abuse and neglect, and at risk for slaughter
  • Retraining and re-homing for equines that are in transition from careers as athletes, companions, teachers and healers
  • A safe place for aged equines to live out the rest of their lives in comfort

This news comes as New Freedom Farm prepares for Freedom Fest. It is three weekends in September. There will be raffles, food, live entertainment, wild mustang tours, motorcycles and special cars on display.

The event runs Sept. 11-12, Sept. 18-19, and Sept. 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $7 and children under 2 get in for free. Tickets include on raffle ticket.
