ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On Tuesday, we expect an update on efforts to create a new Career and Technical Education facility to come to Roanoke County.

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors as well as the Roanoke County School Board have been working out details on creating this new facility for students in Roanoke County.

Jason Peters, Roanoke County’s Board of Supervisors chairman says that around 300 students have been turned away due to current capacity constraints and that a new facility will allow for expanded courses that could be offered to help meet workforce demand in the Roanoke Valley.

Over the last year, the two Boards have worked together to move this effort forward all while battling inflation and costs which, they say, has been challenging but all funding options are on the table.
