ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – MystiCon has taken to social media to confirm that the organization has canceled its convention at the Holiday Inn at Tanglewood in Roanoke.

In the post, they say that they will not be able to hold their event previously scheduled for Feb. 25-27, 2022.

Those who purchased badges will be issued a full refund. For hotel rooms that were booked for the convention, room rates will still be honored, if you still wish to keep the hotel room, though they ask that you contact the hotel by Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. to retain your room. Otherwise, they will be automatically canceled.

Organizers say the reason for the cancelation was due to the health and safety concerns of those attending.
