SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — The Salem community will once again be able to feel right at home in Longwood Park as the 2021 season for “Movies at Longwood” kicks off on Friday!

On Friday, May 21, the Salem Parks and Recreation Department will kick off four months of safe, family-friendly entertainment with the DreamWorks animated picture, “The Croods – A New Age.”

The movie is set to start at dusk — approximately 8:30 p.m. — and guests of all ages will be able to get in for free.

The other movies for the summer 2021 season are listed below:

  • “Aladdin” on June 25
  • “Miracle” on July 23
  • “Raya and the Last Dragon” on Aug. 13.

“These Friday night events are designed for the entire family to enjoy a free night at the movies under the stars, so everyone is welcome to bring chairs and a blanket,” Salem Parks and Recreation said in a statement on May 12. “A variety of cinema style concessions will be available from Fun Times and The Tailgate.”

The department reminds residents that pets are not allowed at the events for the 2021 Movies at Longwood season, which is sponsored by Poarch Thompson Law in Salem.
