Man injured after Sunday night shooting in northwest Roanoke, police say

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police have launched an investigation after a Sunday night shooting in northwest Roanoke sent a man to the hospital.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, word came in at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17 about a person who had been shot in the 3700 block of Rolling Hill Avenue NW.

The department says officers arrived at the scene and found a man with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Roanoke Fire-EMS then transported the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Detectives are still working to uncover the circumstances that led up to Sunday night’s shooting, but officials say details are limited about this ongoing investigation.

According to police, they did not find any suspects at the scene and have not made any arrests as of this writing.
