ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County Police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday night.
According to Roanoke County Police, officers responded to the 7000 block of Thirlane Road at 10:22 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, for a male with life-threatening wounds.
The caller who reported the incident said they had just returned to the residence and found the male victim. When officers arrived, they located the deceased man who had apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim is being identified as Julian Brown, 31, of Roanoke County.
Officers determined that two children were missing from the residence as well as a vehicle that belonged to Brown.
Police also learned that the person of interest, who resides at the home, could not be located and could possibly have the vehicle and be with the children.
A short time later, Roanoke County Police were told that the vehicle fled from officers in Mecklenburg County around the same time that the initial call was received.
As investigators were following up on that information, Roanoke County was contacted by police in Chesterfield County was eventually able to stop the vehicle and locate the individual, as well as the children, who were all unharmed.
The individual was taken into custody by Chesterfield County Police and was charged with several crimes related to the pursuit as is being held with no bond.
Police in Roanoke County continue to investigate the incident and charges are pending relating to Brown’s death.
