Man dead after overnight shooting at Williamson Road 7-Eleven in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke Police responded to a report of a shooting at 7-Eleven overnight.

According to Roanoke Police, the call came in around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning for a report of shots being fired and an injured person in the 3600 block of Williamson Road NW.

When officers arrived on-scene, they located an adult male lying in the parking lot of the business.

Roanoke Fire-EMS personnel pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The man is not being identified by police as next-of-kin are being notified.

Officers located a person of interest on-scene. Police say this person is cooperating with the investigation.

Roanoke Police say that those involved in the shooting are known to one another.

No charges have been issued at this time. Details are limited and the investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
