ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are working to determine the location of a crime scene after an injured man was found with gunshot wounds in southwest Roanoke Wednesday night.

The Roanoke Police Department was notified around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27 about a person in the 1600 block of Rorer Avenue SW who had been shot.

When police responded to the scene, they say they tracked down a man with what appeared to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The man was then brought to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by Roanoke Fire-EMS.

According to the department, the preliminary investigation indicates the shooting may have taken place at a different location than where the victim was discovered.

In addition, authorities say they have not located or identified any suspects, but detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
