Man brought to hospital after found shot in northwest Roanoke, police say

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police in the Star City are investigating a shooting after finding a man inside a northwest Roanoke residence with gunshot wounds late Tuesday night.

The Roanoke Police Department learned of a person who had been shot in the 4300 block of Williamson Road NW at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

When police arrived, they found a man inside a residence who appeared to have non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

First responders brought the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital to be treated, but the department says detectives are still trying to figure out the events that preceded the shooting.

As of this writing, police say they have not made any arrests in this ongoing investigation.
