ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)– Macaroni Kid Roanoke has collaborated with businesses in downtown Roanoke to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.

The two-hour event on Saturday, Oct. 30 was started last year during the pandemic to provide a safe, socially-distanced way for children to trick-or-treat.

Families were encouraged to register in advance so Macaroni Kid could prepare enough treats and limit the number of trick-or-treaters, per coronavirus guidelines.

Publisher Beth Bell of Macaroni Kid Roanoke says she hopes families enjoy the experience.

“I just hope they had a blast,” Bell said. “I appreciate everyone being patient with me and coming down, not letting the weather deter them.”

If families are looking for more trick-or-treating opportunities this weekend, they can go to Events & Activities for Kids and Families, Roanoke, VA, Things to Do | Macaroni KID Roanoke.
