ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Founding member of the female group The Runaways is coming to Roanoke for a performance at Berglund Center in mid-July.
Lita Ford was a guitarist with the group whose hard rock / punk style produced hits like “Cherry Bomb” and “Queens of Noise.”
Ford and The Runaways proved to be considered to be timeless when, back in 2014, the song “Cherry Bomb” was featured in the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” and was nominated for a Grammy.
Ford’s solo career has also seen success with the 1989 single, “Close My Eyes Forever,” a duet with Ozzy Osbourne, remains her most successful song by reaching number eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
Tickets for Lita Ford’s concert — which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on July 17 — will go on sale Friday, May 28 at RoanokeLive.com or charge-by-phone at 1-877-482-8496.
