ROCKBRIDGE COUNTRY, Va. (WFXR) — Whether you like a fine Merlot or a crisp Prosecco, Wednesday is the perfect day to pour a glass of your favorite wine because it’s National Wine Day.

Virginia is one of the most dynamic wine-producing states in the U.S., with over 28 varieties of grapes planted on more than 4,000 acres across the Commonwealth, bringing in over $1 billion and creating plenty of jobs.

To learn more about wine, WFXR’s Hazelmarie Anderson took a trip to Rockbridge Vineyard and Brewery in Raphine and spoke with the Virginia Vineyard Association’s “Grower of the Year,” Shephard Rouse.
