ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — If you plan to vote in three weeks, you need to make sure you are registered and up to date.

Today is the last day to register to vote in Virginia. According to the Virginia Department of Elections, you can register to vote in person, by mail, or online by the end of the day today. If you are going to register by mail, it must be postmarked with today’s date.

You can go to the Virginia Department of Elections website to check if you are eligible to register to vote in Virginia. Then you can find a location where you can obtain a registration application.

Some of the locations include your local voter registration office, public libraries, Virginia Department of Elections office, and Department of Motor Vehicles offices.

According to the Virginia Department of Elections, the deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you is October 28th. Voter registration opens for early voting Saturday, October 29th. The last day to do early in-person voting is Saturday, November 5.
