The Virginia Department of Transportation says drivers traveling on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County can expect delays due to a tractor-trailer crash on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE 2/8 at 2:10 P.M. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Transportation has reported the earlier tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 81 south in Roanoke County is now cleared.

VDOT says that the right lane is open.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Drivers traveling along Interstate 81 south in Roanoke County can expect delays because of a tractor-trailer crash at mile marker 135 near the construction zone.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, traffic is backed up over one mile and the right is closed at this time.

Drivers traveling in this area are encouraged to seek alternative routes of travel.
