ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Junior League of Roanoke Valley (JLRV) is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in southwest Roanoke on Saturday.

The blood drive will be held at the American Red Cross office at 352 Church Avenue SW from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27.

With thousands of blood drives being postponed or canceled across the country, the need for blood donations is critical.

JLRV and the Red Cross will work to follow safety and infection control standards. Health protocols – such as temperature checks, social distancing, and face coverings for donors and staff – will be implemented to help protect those in attendance.

Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arrival. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Donors can save time by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online before arriving at the blood drive. To get started and schedule an appointment, follow the instructions at or use the Blood Donor App.
