FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Both law enforcement and school officials are investigating an “unfounded” claim about a firearm at Franklin County High School on Thursday.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, there was an incident involving students at the high school on Thursday, Nov. 18, during which time a claim was made about a firearm on campus.
Members of the sheriff’s office and the Franklin County High School administration immediately looked into this claim and determined it was unfounded, officials say.
The investigation into this claim is reportedly ongoing between the sheriff’s office and Franklin County Public Schools.
However, authorities say there is no threat at Franklin County High School.
