UPDATE 6 p.m.: According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the stalled tractor-trailer on I-81 North in Roanoke County has been moved, allowing traffic to move more freely near mile marker 135.


UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), motorists continue to experience delays on I-81 North in Roanoke County due to a disabled tractor-trailer near mile marker 135.

Traffic backups are now estimated to be at about 4 miles.


UPDATE 4:25 p.m.: According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), motorists continue to experience delays on I-81 North in Roanoke County due to a stalled tractor-trailer near mile marker 135.

The north right shoulder remains closed.

Traffic is now estimated to be backed up for about 5.5 miles.


ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), motorists can expect delays on I-81 North in Roanoke County due to a stalled tractor-trailer near mile marker 135.

At this time, the northbound right lane and right shoulder are closed on I-81.

Traffic backups are estimated to be about 4.5 miles, according to VDOT.
