UPDATE 10:06 a.m.: The Roanoke Police Department released new details to WFXR News about Friday morning’s shooting that left a man injured in southwest Roanoke.
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Friday, June 3, police say they were notified by the E-911 Center about a person with a gunshot wound in the 2800 block of Colonial Avenue SW.
When officers responded to the scene, they found a man in a parking lot with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury. He was then brought to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by first responders.
Authorities tell WFXR News they did not find any suspects at the scene.
As of this writing, details about what led up to the shooting are limited as police continue to investigate.

UPDATE 7:22 a.m.: The Roanoke Police Department confirmed to WFXR News that one person has been brought to the hospital after officers were dispatched to southwest Roanoke for reports of a shooting Friday morning.
According to a department supervisor, the victim’s condition is unknown and the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
There is no word on a possible suspect or motive behind this shooting.
This news comes after a WFXR crew spotted officers in the 2800 block of Colonial Avenue SW just after 6 a.m. on Friday, June 3.

UPDATE 6:58 a.m.: After finding several police vehicles gathered in southwest Roanoke Friday morning, a WFXR News crew saw officers taking down the crime scene tape along Colonial Avenue.
