Franklin County High graduation to proceed Thursday, rain or shine

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — No matter the weather, Franklin County High School’s seniors are going to celebrate their graduation Thursday evening.

The school says the ceremony will be held at Cy Dillon Stadium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 10.

However, for those who need indoors seating, the ceremony will be livestreamed inside the Bonner Auditorium.

Gates are set to open for guests at 6 p.m., but seniors need to report to the Central Gym by 5:15 p.m. so they can line up in the correct seating order.

In addition, graduates are required to dress appropriately, which means no jeans or shorts, no decorations on the caps, and only school-issued stoles and cords.

The Franklin County Department of Public Safety asks motorists to be extra cautious around Franklin County High School between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, adding that the area will be very congested.
