ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) — Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a report of a vehicle that was broken into where a purse was taken and thousands of dollars were charged to the victim’s credit card.
According to authorities, a call to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, Jan. 30 indicated that a 2017 Subaru Forester had been broken into at the Waid Recreation Park at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Those responsible reportedly smashed the driver’s side window and stole the victim’s purse. Then, they went to the Kroger in Rocky Mount and purchased thousands of dollars worth of items using the victim’s credit card, the sheriff’s office says.
Two individuals were seen on surveillance footage from Kroger.
