ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) — Kenneth Trusty, a Franklin County dairy farmer, is now over a million dollars richer thanks to a scratcher ticket he bought at 40 West Food Fair on Franklin Street in Rocky Mount.

Trusty decided to take the one-time cash option of $1.2 million before taxes over the full $2 million prize divided up in annual payments over a 30-year period.

“I feel awesome!” Trusty said to Virginia Lottery officials. “It’s going to feel even better when I’m spending it!”

Trusty’s message to other Virginia Lottery players is that he is living proof that ‘it can happen’.

As far as any plans for his winnings, Trusty said he hopes to buy a new truck.
