ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — If you’ve ever wanted to see the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport from a whole new angle, you’ll have your chance in just two months.

The inaugural event is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 at the airport, but early bird registration is open from now through Friday, March 4.

According to organizers, this 5K run/walk — which is open to all ages and abilities — will be limited to the first 500 registrants, so follow this link to sign up.

“The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission and other sponsors are hosting this run in memory of Julie Jeavons, late wife of David Jeavons (ROA Director of Finance), with proceeds benefitting the Carilion Cancer Center,” the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport website states. “Come and have fun on the runway!”
